Whoa! A lot has happened thus far in 2008! If there's one thing I've learned, it's that when the chips are down, you really do find out who your true friends are. Anyway, I've been working on videos and even bought a DVD camcorder last year for that specific purpose, but I'm finding the process of converting video files from a format that the camera can play into a format that can be edited in Windows Movie Maker to be extremely daunting. Well... now I'm back in the US. I managed to survive in Taiwan for more than five years, but only made it for five months on the Mainland. Believe it or not, I wasn't even able to pull up LiveVideo during the last couple months that I was in Shanghai. All I did was reply to a comment about Nixon from my Attack of the Marshmallow Bear video. I mentioned his historic visit to China in the early 1970s and the next thing I knew, my access to LiveVideo was being BLOCKED!!! Well, I moved to China. Shanghai, to be exact. I hope to have some videos up soon to show what life here is like. So far, it's been quite a wild ride, though I should've expected that because I lived in Taiwan for five years before.

Okay, so this video is nothing special, but it's kind of special to me. It's a memory of a time in my not so distant past that I wish I could have back again. Or maybe it's the fact that even though it's been a few years, I still feel lost....

Well... now you know what I look like. All my life, I've been compared to someone. I look like my mother's "British" side of the family, so when I was really young, it was Roddy McDowall, though that may have been because of the way I talked. Then in the sixth grade, I was Robbin Williams... though that may have been because of the way I acted! Then, in High School, I was Michael J. Fox. Those Scottish/Irish/Welsh types all look alike, don't they? Then... it was "a young" Michael Douglas and   more...Bill Pullman (The Serpent and the Rainbow, While You Were Sleeping). I think Pullman is right on, but nobody seems to be able to remember that poor thespian's name! I've even been told I look like Steve Buscemi, but I gotta tell ya, the comparison makes me cringe! Sometimes... "an older" Toby Maguire. Those baby faced Celtic types! Isn't Maguire just taking up where Michael J. Fox left off? I just hope I look EVEN HALF as good as William Shatner when I get to be 76!  less
