If you perform in front of your green (or blue)screen, you can replace the greenscreen with a different background in the editing/compositing process. I use it extensively in my "Tyrannovision" series. People have rigged up makeshift greenscreens out of all kinds of things. Green fabric, green butcher paper, green paint, a green blanket even! The background must be well and evenly lit to get the best results for chroma key compositing.
