This is a simple story, and really doesn't qualify for "leadership through action" (especially compared to Pat). But.....
I would like to say that the   more...day Pat died and it was made public, I had went to the "SIGN" shop next door from my work and asked them to print up 1 Auto decal sticker for the back of my truck.
Simply stating " RIP #40" .
The owner of the shop looked at me, as I figured he might, like I was ridiculous, asking for "Only 1 sticker" (as usually they print many at a time to make it worth their effort).

I explained the story, the heroism, the ASU and the Cardinal games he might have caught Pat playing in. Suddenly enough, the staff, AND customers in the waiting room started to give him money and stating that they would like one too. My money in hand and all the others; he refused.
He absolutely agreed though, to print the decals, free of charge.
When I went back to retrieve my decal "RIP 40" I was handed close to 25 decals.
I accepted them all, and after grocery shopping at the local Safeway, I handed all the extra decals out to strangers as they were shopping.
Mostly, it was an easy task, some I had to to explain, but most snatched the decals with only the word "Tillman".
The decal still shines bright on my truck....its a 2000 Model, I can trade it in for a 2008 model....but does it come with a "RIP #40" decal?  less
