The Beatles preform on the rooftop here and it's the Bobbies that are trying to get them down because of the traffic jam created. The were on top of Apple more...Records Building. On a personal note this was one of the very first songs that I ever heard sitting on the school bus going to school and a kid had on his lap a cassette player and I was instantly memorized and just at that point in time I fell in love with the Beatles, I remember "Hey Jude" came next and shortly not even realizing that within a few days The famous Ed Sullivan Show had them on I can remember sitting in front of my grandmothers TV with my 15 cent coke a cola and my 10 cent bag of Bar- b- Q chips! This was of coarse a re-run but still for me it was as if it were the first time....
note: Sunday February 9, 1964, at 8 p.m., when the Beatles made their first American debut on The Ed Sullivan Show.

"Across the Universe" is a song by The Beatles that first appeared on a charity release in December 1969, and later, in modified form, on their final more...album, Let It Be. The song features John Lennon singing lead, who was also the primary composer (though, as with all Beatles songs written by either composer, the song is copyrighted to Lennon/McCartney).

Another version was performed by a number of artists, including Billie Joe Armstrong, Bono, Steven Tyler, Brian Wilson, Tim McGraw, Scott Weiland, Alicia Keys, Alison Krauss, Norah Jones, and Stevie Wonder, backed by members of Velvet Revolver, at the 2004 Grammy Awards ceremony in February 2005. The following week, a recording of the performance was released exclusively for purchase through the iTunes Music Store. All proceeds from its sale go to funds for victims of the 26 December 2004 Tsunami. Sales from the benefit release made it the fastest-selling download in iTunes history and allowed the song to peak at #22 on the Billboard singles chart.
