In 1852 preparations could be made for using the new land. The other pumping stations were modernized. Cruquius became redundant. The steam-driven pumping station became a museum in 1932. It is one of the oldest examples of industrial history in the Netherlands. less

It is a seven-arch wrought iron bridge, which has gothic detailing by Charles Barry.
