I will be sad to see a new Star Trek movie without my old friends. However when I listen to you talk about the salary you comand, I guess I can understand why I will not see you. I pay max for when I go to conventions to see you & you really don't give

much back for that. All of your merchandise costs alot to, although I still buy it. Perhaps it is time to say Mr. William Shatner, you are too expensive. I am sorry there will be no place for you & I will still get my fix & have new people at the conventions who enjoy their fans.

I reiterate my main point made on comment to your previous post on the subject. The writers are so oblivious to what they are missing out on by not including you in the script...and that is richness and depth to the storyline. Spock will add enough layers

of historical significance to the movie, no doubt. But with you added on to the mix, it would be the absolute perfection. For that matter, the more original characters included from your term to Cpt Picard's reign the better. Why could they not write all of the characters in to the movie ? For example, all previous characters could be written in as members of a committee that provides counsel to the starfleet. Yes, the obvious explanation is budget constraints...but just imagine the beauty of it , that each iteration of the story keeps the lives of all previous characters in its integrity.
I think what is called for here is another television series that takes advantage of the Star Trek story and all of its characters. That would be awesome.
I would like to see you, Spock, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, Picard, Warf, et al sitting around enjoying dinner and having a heated debate of the current goings on of the star fleet doing business in milky way, thereabouts or beyond.
Yeah, that's it. A 2 hour movie is not enough for Star Trek. We need an extended television series!!! Long live Captain Kirk.!!!

William Shatner is, and has been naught but, a narcissistic, talentless actor. I want to garrote him every time a Priceless commercial comes on, and watching him blather about the popularity of Captain Kirk is just as frustratingly painful.

You are and always will be Capt Kirk...there can be others with the name, but it will not be the same ! There is only one true Capt Kirk....and Spock too for that mater :)

Don't forget the fans of Denny Craig that might go see the movie just because of Bill being in it. You've made a whole new generation of fans with your new "character" too.
And Bill, you are still a handsome hunk of man...they could easily cast you as

being in your early 50's. Being plump is NOT A SIN...even though society wants to make it so! Hell...they can put you in all black or something...:-)
It won't be a movie for me without you. And I think we should be able to convince them somehow!

I am do mad and disappointed....they have to put you in this movie somehow or some way or it is not going to be star trek. I'm glad for Leonard and don't want to take any glory away from him, but come on now, movie makers, Captain Kirk is William Shatner

only and he needs to be in there also or it's definitely not star trek! God Bless You and Your Family! Marilyn (Dyani)

Without Gene Roddenberry around, making a Star Trek movie or anything else would be like making a Disney movie without Walt being around. Kind of like baking a cake, but having something not quite taste right.
At any rate, I don't wish to comment on

the new movie until it is out and I have actually seen it. I would not want to disrespect Mr. Nimoy. After all, he must have seen something worthwhile to bring him out of retirement.
I am willing to give it a fair chance.

Bill,
I absolutely cannot fathom why they would not incorporate you as Kirk into this new film. You created the character for goodness sake. You are Kirk. You are synonomis with Star Trek. In my opinion, it is a very bad decision on their part from

a business standpoint. Just think of all of the loyal Shatner fans that would be flocking to the box office to see this new film. No Bill, and this girl wont be going to see the movie in the theatre. Best wishes, TK

I don't know why anyone would have a hard time accepting the character of Captain Kirk as he continues his adventures some 40 years later. Bill has continued to work and seek out new adventures in his life (just watch his videos here for evidence of

that), so why wouldn't an older version of Kirk be doing the same? They should pay Bill what he's worth and put him in this movie!!

Star Trek without Captain Kirk is just not Star Trek. However, I suspect salary considerations are the biggest factor in the absence of the original Captain. Too bad. He will be missed.
