Guitarfish iis a species (Rhinobatidae).of ray. Shovel-nose rays are a subspecies of guitarfish, e.g. the common shovel-nose ray is Rhinobatos typus (see earlier posting)

I knew I had seen it before because it is so darn odd-The one time I caught a rather large stingray in the gulf it freaked me out cause its mouth looked so human-ewwwww. It was a catch and relase that time for sure.LOL

I submitted this once already,but it didn't appear ...
The fish looks like the underside of a slightly dried out shovel-nose ray, which is on the borderline of ray and shark. Its tail is like a skinny version of a shark's body, rather than the smooth,thin more...
