I can understand your point of view and your disapointment with your experience. It would be nice for Bill to look up and greet everyone in the autograph line. But if he did that, some people would try to start up a conversation.
Then it would take even more time and some people wouldn't be able to get their autograph at all. I flew from Dallas to New York to go to a convention just for the chance to get a glimse of Bill. I didn't know what to expect. It was well worthwhile just to see him on stage. I did purchase the photo op and the in person autograph. I didn't expect to have a lengthy conversation with the man or to be able to give him a big hug. Although that would have been nice. I was so nervous while waiting in the photo op line that I almost hyperventilated. Bill did look me in the eye and say, "Hello, how are you?" He also looked up at me and the man in front of me in the autograph line. I will admit the autograph line was a bit hurried. I did end up with a half signed photo. Whether or not that was my fault I don't know. He looked up at me and I blurted out, "I love you. You are so wonderful." My husband said that is what I get for distracting him. All that I am saying is that we all love Bill Shatner. Give the guy a break for God's sake. He is 75 years old and is still doing conventions for the sake of his fans. I am just glad that I had the opportunity to see him in person. Look on the bright side. At least you have a completely signed photo.

Dear Mr. Shatner: I'm 60 and love everything you've done and are doing. Boston Legal is now my favourite show and I loved you on "Show Me The Money"!! Why on earth was that show pulled? You brought such joy and humour to that show.

Bill, Bill, Bill…I’m a little upset. I paid $274.00 to UnitedFanCon to get an “in person” autograph from you, among other things from the promoters and other guests.
My “in person” autograph amounted to walking past you, while you sat at a table, on the

other side of a chain “rope line”, and sighned stuff being shoved in your face at such a break neck speed by helpers that you never had a chance to even look up and make eye contact with anyone in the line.
That is not what I consider an “in person” autograph. That was more like a visit to an autograph zoo. It just so HAPPENS that the autographs that you were signing were for the folks in the “viewing” line.
WHY was it set up this way? For the sake of timiliness? Because you didn’t WANT to make eye contact?
I have been to dozens of conventions and have gotten dozens of “in person” autographs, and I have NEVER been behind a rope line or totally ignored whilst doing it. Leonard Nimoy, for example, didn’t use a rope line, and he made eye contact, at a show where MANY more people were in line for his autograph than were for yours the other night.
I was appauled. You weren’t even at the con. for 3 full hours. I know you did one in NY the next day, but you drove or rode there in a car. You could have hung around in Springfield a little longer, and taken more time to sign stuff, so as to allow for eye contact, atleast, before catching your ride. Shame on you.
Captain Kirk is crying, T.J. Hooker is drinking the shame away, and Denny Crane just had gay sex out of self-loathing.

First, I'd love to compliment you on your amazing ability to, as your daughter says, stay current. You have always managed to roll with the punches and move with the times - and incredibly keep a sense of humor about yourself and the world. If you

really are answering questions, I'd love to ask a few. I am a local actress in Boston and I wanted to ask you about your career. I have heard you tell many stories about doing summerstock and living out of your trailer. How did you get through the lean times - both financially and especially emotionally? Do you have any advice to a young actors about how to move within an industry that is vastly different just a few years ago? And out of interest in you, as I'm a HUGE fan and would love to know more about you - You seem very close to your daughter - what are your feelings on family life - what difficulities have you experienced because of your career? What are you most proud of that each of your daughters have accomplished? What was your favorite role to play and why? The most difficult?I guess I'll let that be it. I can't wait to see the next installment of "Shatnervision"!

Mr. Shatner, you remind me of my father, and your subtle facial reactions to your daughter Liz's comments are wonderful and oddly comforting.
I should like to see you take your camcorder with you on events and share the outcome with your LiveVideo audience.
