Bill is absolutely correct: the best way to remember your lines is to start by memorizing ideas (or the thoughts of the characters).
The next step is to say your lines like you mean it. What does that mean? This is best explained in this blog post:

Hello, Bill
I am also a Bill on both video sites. Just a quick comment about lines, Axe Rose says he reads off a teleprompter during a concert because so much is going on in his head at any given moment. It is just one of many challenges of stage performance.

"Invariably, those writers choose the right words." You sure hit the nail on the head there, Bill. The writers on that show are ARTISTS with the english Language. No wonder you are still loving to play that part after so many years!

i just realized, how your
method, of learning lines,
are great, you get a specific
thing, you put it on your own abstract,
they voyage, like in transition,
the result is your own interpretation,
you just make the thing stand by you ,
you dress it with you.

I love these videos. I frist saw them on MySpace. Mr. Shatner is so down to earth and it is wonderful to hear his stories. Not only have I been a big fan, but my husband too. StarTrek was our first love, but we adore Denny Crane!

I LOVE Boston Legal. It's my favorite show, and I wish it were on all year. Can you put in a good word to get Betty White back once in a while? She should show up sometimes with that food cart, right? Just keep her away from frying pans.
Keep up

the good work. You are great in whatever you do. Live long and Prosper.

I takes a clear mind and good memory to memorize lines of a script in a day..just goes to show how good your mind still works. I can remember as a youngester remembering lines for plays and skits and it was easy, but not keeping my mind challenged in

my older years, I find it much more difficult. You keep your mind challenged and working constantly so you are able to do the things you need to do...that is excellent. Goes to show just how talented you truly are. Hugs! Marilyn (Dyani2004)
