I've had a bunch of peope ask me how exactly a poker run works so I thought I'd explain it here. I didn't even think about explaining while I was on the run which would have been smart to do but I wasn't really talking much in my Poker run series.

Poker runs are organized motorcycle rides where you ride a predesignated route with stops along the way where you draw playing cards. After the last stop whoever has the best poker hand wins.

Specifically the poker run I did was to benefit the building   more...of a local park here in New Jersey. It was a 76 mile ride for the best 5 card poker hand. At each stop we drew cards out of a bucket or a box. We were given a piece of paper which was used to track our cards and listed directions to each stop. I think the longest stretch between stops was 22 miles. The registration fee was $20 and a t-shirt was given to the first 500 riders registered. At the end there was a BBQ and live music. The prize for the best hand was $200.

I've done one other one and at one of the stops you could choose to throw a dart at a board of ~20 cards instead of picking a random one. And at the end was a bike show of all the bikes in the run.

It's a really great idea and I've been looking to do more of them.  less

I mentioned in my last announcement that I ordered a v750... well I cancelled that order because the company was giving me the run-around. I've since ordered it from a different site online so we'll see if I fare any better this time.

I ordered a Kodak v750 so once that comes in (hopefully some time next week) I'm going to take it for a spin and see if I've got what it takes for this whole vlogging thing. ;-)
