ONCE UPON A TIME ON PLANET EARTH is the brainchild more...of ex-pat Ron Modro; an American who lives in France. Modro is an independent journalist/photographer. The belief that a single human being can make a difference, gives life to this innovative project.
“I wanted to find a venue to exploit the Internet as a force of global change for peace and understanding.” Modro says. “How could we use the blogosphere to change and help re-shape governmental policy? How can the Internet influence the biggest issues of our time? Remembering a single moment in hitory is at the core of this global photographic endeavor." After spending 15 years in LA working in the Film industry, The Founder worked for six years in Human Rights Education as the Senior Manager of the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. In 2004, the "United Nations Global Tolerance Award," as well as a commendation by the City of Los Angeles for their outstanding work in the field of Tolerance Education. | | | Brotherly Love, A Vision of Hope 41:03 “Brotherly Love, A Vision of Hope” is a bold and innovative documentary project, designed to bring those in the shadows of modern society into the light more...of recognition, understanding and acceptance. The belief that a society is judged by the way it treats its poor and helpless is the cornerstone of this photographic/multimedia essay. With support and logistical assistance from Philadelphia Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell, Photojournalist/Artist Ron Modro, photographed and recorded the stories of those living in the shadows, to show the hardship of life on the streets, by going into the shelter system to tell their stories from their perspective. The idea is to create a public multi-media exhibition using photographs and video to show the human side of life on the streets. Taking those in the shadows from a life of invisibility, to a life at the forefront of the movement to create change in the way America sees its poor and homeless. less Added: Aug 28, 08 Views: 107 Category: People |
