This may seem a bit cornballish but I enjoy the Star Trek novels. One thing about Star Trek is that by using outer space as a stage, whatever issue or problem that is being focused on in the novels, one cannot say, "that is an American issue, or a European issue, or a Russian problem." Since space is something we all have in common, whatever issues or problems are focused on become the issues and problems of everyone on earth. If we can see that if one person on this planet does not have a place   more...to sleep or enough food to eat, and that we as humans living on this planet need to step up resolve the issue of homelessness and starvation, even if it is for one person, we will be well on our way to making this a better world to live in for everyone.  less
