These are the fry that you have been watching over the last several months in the videos I have been posting. I recently had some issues with the tank, more...and it nearly crashed, partly I'm sure caused by a move to a new home on the other end of the city. I broke the tank down a few days ago, removed all the plants, driftwood, and the ship. removed a bunch of sand that looked like it might be getting ready to rot, as it was sitting under the ornaments and plants. Re-added everything back, and looks like the tank is stabilizing. Thought I better get a video, just in case it crashes for goos, and I need to sell the fish in a hurry. For the week prior to this video, I lost several fish, and at last count about 20 were lost total. :( But with everything out, I was able to do a rough count, and there are still about 60 in there, waiting for the new tanks to be set up. less

Takashi Amano more...is one of the most influential people in the freshwater aquascaping community. He can largely be credited with introducing Japanese gardening concepts such as Wabi-sabi and Zen rock arrangement to the aquascaping hobby. His tank compositions involve intricate, and typically asymmetrical (though balanced) arrangements of aquatic plants often augmented by river rocks and driftwood. His aquascapes are notable in that they often mimic nature in their appearance, and can be regarded as a form of art. less

Got up today, and was feeding the fry, when I looked over, my adults were breeding again! I didn't initiate this one, so they must have been ready to more...do it on their own. I fed them bloodworm to help keep up the males strength. If you also notice, there is a little fry to the left. A couple actually did survive when I just left the eggs in the tank. less

Nine days after placing the eggs in the new tank, I have about 30-40 fry in it. I found that the best time to get video of them moving around was right more...when I turned the lights on in the morning. less

My parent's sent out a gift card to buy myself another fish tank. more...I needed a new growout tank as I was tired of using my hospital tank for that purpose. I picked up this 10 gallon from Wal-Mart. Painted the back side black, and the underside of the Hood white. Got it all setup, and added the eggs from the adult tank. I have about 100 eggs in this new tank, and the Dwarf Lily pod. less

Time to begin collecting the largest for tomorrows sale. Due to the nature of the tank they're in, they can bolt into the plants and not be found. So more...instead, I'm using an idea that I found online. Take a 2 litre pop bottle, cut the top off, and invert. Place some food into the bottle, filled with water, and drop it in (nicely). Then all we have to do is wait. As you can see here, I've caught several smaller fish, but I can remove them later. less

I tossed in a couple sinking pellets shortly before feeding time, and these guys came out a bit better. Way more focused as they're all looking at two more...pellets. I added a measuring tape to the tank to help gauge roughly how big some were, and in areas, you can really see that these guys are getting big. Largest are about an inch long. less
