how do you start your bike on a cold day without giving it any revs, although my bike's over 10 years old so maybe i have to... can you just start it with the choke on would this help??

The rule is with as little gas as possible. So if you need to give it gas to start it then fine.....but use as little as needed. Or if you use the choke same rule applies....as little as possible without it stalling.
