| | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 12:44 PM | | As you either know...or don't, I had been on vacation for most of this month. It was a wonderful three weeks off to myself and with my family (see pics below). But I must tell you this one thing: I REALLY got to be with my passions ....my production work. Sheesh! I love making music...and setting it to pictures (or is it the other way around...filming moving pictures and setting it to original music?) Either way...I really got the chance to reach in deep and pull my soul out! This was a very humbling more...deal because i was then reminded of how blessed I had been to have this gift! I didn't have to have it....as well as I could have been born without it. So I just wanted to take this time to say that I am one greatful producer. I thank God big time for giving me the gift and talent...so that i can keep making these songs (and videos to the songs) for all of you! When you see one of them, i want you to remeber what I just told you....and realize that I will neither forsake my gifting, nor forget who gave it to me! MM less | |
| Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 4:52 AM | | With respect to the last video "Sweet Spirit of Phaedress" Phadress was ...and has been a friend back at you tube for almost a year now. I had always thought of her as a beautiful spirit. As a musician...I was jealous that someone else started producing original music in order for her to produce her videos with (I had wanted to do that for such a beautiful lady) That's how I knew that I was musically inspired by her. A true artist ...be it with notes on a piano, or paint on a canvas...lives and dies more...(or better yet....just breathes, or is driven) by their inspiration. She had already been driving me.
Well, I was devastated (for lack of a better word, or disturbed) by this video made by my inspirational friend....Phaedress...in which she comes clean with her true self image, which was at times not whole...."and nothing could ever fill the void" ever again.I was moved. As a musician / artist, as a friend...as a fellow human...I was moved! That's when I had to act on my instinct...to not only express myself theraputically, but to replace her void with something, even if it meant only partially. I had no choice. I would not be myself if I did nothing. The song came naturally in three days (after forcing it unsuccessfuly for the first two). If the life and/or light in the person is uplifting and/or celebratory, wouldn't the musical description of that essence be coresrondingly celebratory in an up tempo kinda way, as a kind of musical/poetic impramateur? The visuals and music in this video alludes not to tragedy, but to life, influence, strength warmth and benificence. Enjoy my friends! MM less
| Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 9:43 AM | | Their marriage was good, their dreams focused. Their best friends lived barely a wave away. I can see them now, Dad in trousers, tee shirt and a hat and Mom in a house dress, lawn mower in one hand, and dish-towel in the other. It was the time for fixing things. A curtain rod, the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven door, the hem in a dress. Things we keep. It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy. All that re-fixing, eating, renewing, I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant more...affluence. Throwing things away meant you knew there'd always be more.
But then my mother died, and on that clear summer's night, in the warmth of the hospital room, I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't an y more.
Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away...never to return. So... While we have it... it's best we love it... And care for it.... And fix it when it's broken..... And heal it when it's sick.
This is true... For marriage.... And old cars.... And children with bad report cards..... Dogs and cats with bad hips.... And aging parents.... And grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep. Like a best friend that moved away or a classmate we grew up with.
There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special.... And so, we keep them close! less

| | | "Time After Time " (cover) 06:29 We had a lot of fun making this one. But sheesh! All the gas it took to get to all these different shooting locations....but you guys are worth it! We more...knew we would be seeing you guys again. Bottom line...anything for a friend, i.e., a prayer, a hug, money (not too much though...Lol), or just some love and support, we find ourselfscoming over there and meeting the need"Time After Time." Hey...we have been blessed greatly...so to much is given, much is required. We know that to be true and are use to it. :) "Time after Time" was a single by singer Cyndi Lauper, the second from her She's So Unusual album, and it reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts on June 9, 1984. The song was at #1 for two weeks and to date is her second highest charting and most commercially successful single worldwide after "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," also reaching #3 on the UK Singles Chart and #6 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
"Time after Time" was nominated for "Song of the Year" at the 1985 Grammy Awards. The ballad is considered a classic of the 1980s and is still played frequently on adult contemporary radio.

| | | | Not Just Another Inspired Song (original) 04:47 You guys already know that I consider it a gift to express myself in this way...and to have a connection with you guys in return. You have heard me more...go on about this whole means of communication being a creative outlet, one which hasn't been this inspiring in years for me. You know I look for the higher meaning in every feeling I become inspired to express. In one way, or another, I have communicated these thoughts to you. You know I am eternally thankful and grateful to you guys. However, there is one area I didn't see coming. I wasn't prepared in anyway for this unexpected blessing (you know that some of the best things in life are the unexpected. For the thing I am attempting to explain to you...I can never repay you for (Sheesh! I am almost getting misty in the eyes just thinking about this). I am soooo moved by how you people have embraced my daughter's efforts to participate in this thing I am referring to as my "creative expression." I just accidentally ran her across my camera...and hence, this computer screen only to have you, my circle of friends, embrace her with love and support. Trust me...she hears and receives every one of your constructive, or complementary comments. It was these comments that pulled her towards buying in on the her road to creative expressiveness. Not only that...some of you have adopted Missy as part of the community and have helped protected her from any negative, or otherwise harmful people / factors that go hand in hand with the web. As a result, Missy looks forward to choreographing her own moves for her daddy's songs. I can't tell you how full my heart is to know that. I can't tell you of the joy I have from seeing her excitement to dance and perform (for Live Video). I can see that this expressive time she and I share will fast become a tradition / legacy of ours. This quality time we have in our productions would not exsist if you guys weren't there for us to upload it for. It's late right now...and I can't seem to say everything that needs to be said right now, but just know; you guys are just a bunch of great people; people that I choose to surround my family and me with. You are our family as well. This song is our way of saying thanks! Please know that we thank all of you and love you very much!

| | | | favorite Songs Vol. #4 "Blue Eyes" Sir Elton John (cover) 04:47 "Blue Eyes" Music by Sir Elton John Lyrics by Gary Osborne. Love this song. It takes me back to fond teenage memories...back in a time when things were more...less complicated and more innocent. Ahh...to be young and in love. Do you remember times like that? It would make anyone's eyes blue to compare the things of today with the way things use to be. I miss those good old days. I had less bills and responsibilities as well. Lol. Hence...the title! :) Enjoy my friends. MM less Added: Apr 9, 08 Views: 332 Category: Music |

| | | Dedication to my Subscribers and Friends!!!! (I luv you guys soooo much!!!!) 06:13 "Killing Me Softly" Roberta Flack. I have always loved this song....every since I went to the South as a little kid for the summer. While in the summer more...school...I learned the hard way that the South is unlike the North. The teacher pulled out a wooden paddle an proceeded to tear my rear end up ( it should be noted that I have always been...and continue to be a generally nice guy. Whatever grounds there were that made the teacher see to it that I have total pain on my tush was to say the least...a slight misunderstanding. As I continued to count the number of "swats" being delivered, "Killing Me Softly" was being played on the little classroom radio. Needless to say, the song strikes a unique chord with me...and has ever since. Lol. Much love to yu all....and enjoy!

| | | | The Lesson (an original song~true story) 08:12 Life's teaching moments! If you know me....I'm always looking for "the lesson" in everything that happens, doesn't happen, or may happen. I'm a stickler more...for a lesson! Lol. This marks the last video made during the wonderful three weeks I was off on vacation....Sheesh! I too have a life and have to go back to work. What...you thought I only have this to do while the wifey pays the bills? I was just joking (in that other video). Now that my regular schedule is in progress, you will be lucky to get a video once every two weeks...and that's if i'm not busy!!! But production work has always been my passion. NOW that I'm only working with original music (my music) these productions are even more dear to my heart! And with a handful of my regulars (subscribers), it's like having a regular gig at the college pub...doesn't get any better than that ey! Thanks to this medium (LV) I have a a place to send my "stuff" that has been built up within me my whole life long. I hope you enjoy this one...as it was special; it was all about Missy as she accepted the differences between two extremes (the ducks having, yet this young woman having not). Enjoy this one my friends! less Added: Jan 29, 08 Views: 758 Category: Music |
