My Tia will be 17 next month. The oldest cat I've had so far was 18 and by Tia's age had been having health problems for several years. Hopefully the old guy will surprise everyone, but you never know.

I had to give Mitzi antibiotic injections for the last 1.5 years :( She kept getting respiratory infections. What finally did it was kidney failure tho. It seems to be the ultimate killer of old kitties.

He's had pretty solid health up until now, but he has calcifications along the spine that cause him pain, and he has been reacting a bit unpredictably. With an 18-month-old in the house, that's not a good thing, really. But the meds seem to be helping more...
