THE 2007 LOS ANGELES LGBT PRIDE CELEBRATION EXPANDS

LOS ANGELES (MAY 23, 2007) – Christopher Street West is thrilled to present an expanding Los Angeles LGBT PRIDE Celebration! New venues, a new look and a bigger broadcast production will be joining the traditional annual parade and festival event.

This year on the festival grounds, an After Party will follow the annual Friday night Dyke March and Rally. With over 25,000 attendees last year, the ever popular Erotic City returns this year and and is   more...adding a completely new party, Carnal Carnival – a celebration of food and drink, entertainment, merriment, and revelry and all of it carnal, sensual, and little bit devilish.

The Festival continues to break new ground with an entertainment line-up of indie bands joining a few LGBT community favorites and welcomes the famed punk-rock-icon Joan Jett & The Blackhearts to the WaMu® Mainstage for a 75-min full-band concert. Festival goers will see another first this year -- the inclusion of Cultural Partners at the Festival. Never before in the 37-year history of LA PRIDE, have so many incredible theatrical and amazing musical organizations joined in support of the LGBT community. The Festival will also being donning a new décor -- that you’ll have to see for yourself!

This year’s Parade will be broadcast live on Time Warner Cable Channel 10 in West Hollywood and streamed on the web at www.LAPRIDE.org/webcast. The broadcast will be sharing the stage with the parade judges and is at a new location at the Veterans Memorial triangle at Santa Monica Blvd and Holloway. A first-ever Parade Grandstand will accommodate Honorees, LGBT leaders, officials, and VIP guests and will be set alongside the broadcast at the Veterans Memorial triangle.

In addition to the full-size Pride Guide, Christopher Street West is pleased to provide another LA PRIDE first -- a Pocket Pride Guide filled with PRIDE essentials. At a glance you'll know the who, what, where, when and how of Pride Celebration. The LA PRIDE website has expanded coverage and the celebration can start early by becoming a friend on the LA PRIDE myspace (www.myspace.com/losangelespride.com), where you will also find this year’s bands featured in “Top Friends”.
