 | | ""The Megatron doesn't say 'urban freewheelers' it says...sofa masturbators."" | A ray of rational sarcasm in a demon-haunted world. Giant killing, monster slaying, deity defying Englishman shipwrecked on the golden coast of the New Worlde. Happily humanist, aggressively atheist, perfectly pastafarian, amusingly alliterate and unapologetically unwilling to fake politeness towards right-wing lunatics, southern baptists, conspiracy theorists, homeopaths, sociopaths,Wyomingites, scientologists, trailer trash and general ignoramuses.

| Name: Miles Pieri | | Age: 100 | | City: Tarzana, Los Angeles, California | | Country: | United States |
| | Gender: Male | | Dating Status: Taken | | Hometown: Oxford, England | | |
| Hobbies: Christian-baiting, dating fucked-up women, high-stakes Canasta, half-hearted suicide attempts (I once tried to slash my wrists with a tomato), checking out bikini'd Asian girls on Santa Monica beach, sounding pretentious when speaking about literature or films. | Movies: Too many to mention. Here, in true Nick Hornby fashion, is my top five - 1. Hana-Bi 2. Tokyo Monogatari 3. Ikiru 4. La Jetee 5. The Bride of Frankenstein
...but there are shitloads more that I truly love. | | Music: Billy Bragg, Laurie Anderson, The Decemberists, Talking Heads, Warren Zevon, Morrissey, The Smiths, Pulp, Shonen Knife, Robyn Hitchcock, The Soft Boys etc etc - although I reserve the right to renounce any of these acts, should they suddenly become horribly 'uncool'. | Books: Again, far too many to mention. I just finished The Rights of Man by Thomas Paine which was FUCKING AMAZING.... it's a crime that American kids aren't taught what a great man, and true hero, Paine was. It'll never happen though. Top five novels (in no order)... 1. The Good Soldier by Ford Madox Ford 2. Gargantua and Pantagruel by François Rabelais 3. Under The Frog by Tibor Fischer 4. Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami 4. Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco |

 | | | | Homosexuality: Get the FACTS!!!! 01:54 Learn about the mysterious world of the homosexual with this 1950's educational recording. Homosexuality, it seems, isn't new after all. In fact, it's more...been around since ancient times. Homosexuals no longer use 'secret signs' to recognize each other, they have their own 'clubs' and mysterious 'societies'. They'll be asking for the vote next... Anyway, I thought the humorless narration and pseudo-jazz score was rather hypnotizing, so I decided to share it with you. I added some visuals because I know the YouTube generation suffer from the attention span of a goldfish. Enjoy. less Added: Nov 17, 08 Views: 205 Category: Science & Technology |
| | | Miles does Disneyland 03:02 Despite my legendary aversion to theme parks (or fun of any kind) I was coerced into taking my young 'ward' (as my friend Carolyn insists on having it) more...to the self-proclaimed 'happiest place on Earth'. That's odd, I was under the impression that the happiest place on Earth was an Emo convention at a razor blade factory. Anyway, this was my second trip to the theme park (I only live thirty minutes away, which is either a blessing or a curse, depending on your IQ) and, having not learned my lesson the first time, I agreed to return. As un homage du brothers Cohen, I end the film before the climactic Splash Mountain money shot. It's my comment on the catharsis LiveVideo viewers achieve by watching acts of violence, or something. less Added: Nov 15, 08 Views: 59 Category: Travel & Places |

| | | Richard Dawkins reads Christian Fan Mail 01:07 Prof. Richard Dawkins, evolutionary biologist, author of books such as The Selfish Gene and The God Delusion and father of memetics reads a selection of more...typical fanmail from devout Christians. The devout servants of the Lord show the compassion and love that so embodies their chosen religion and their Holy Book. Dawkins, a 'Damned Blasphemy' apparently, is an outspoken atheist and married to a former Doctor Who companion, trivia buffs. | | Alan Moore still knows the score. 03:12 I'd wondered to myself what Alan Moore thought of Anonymous. Given his dislike (to put it mildly) for Hollywood's vandalism of his works and his lovably more...curmudgeonly persona I was a little concerned he might be dissaproving. It was nice, then, to see a recent interview with him where he exclaimed that seeing a bunch of basement dwelling hackers on steroids (not his words) in Guy Fawkes masks protesting Scientology gave him a 'warm little glow'.
So, there's no real point to this video. I just wanted to use that quote and knock something together using clips from the fascinating documentary 'The Mindscape of Alan Moore' (which is available from http://www.shadowsnake.com/index.html).
Moore is, after all, the original Wise Beard Man and he used to live with two chicks and worships a snake god. How fucking cool is that? I met him once too, back when he was writing V for Warrior Magazine and toiling away on Doctor Who monthly. He seemed nice and, despite what you might think from his appearance, he doesn't smell at all. I also met Neil Gaiman back when he took over MiracleMan from Moore. It was at Rainbow's End comics in Oxford, UK (Don't look for it, it's not there anymore). He signed my comic 'Golden Years, Golden Wa Wa Wa....Neil. He was cool too, even though his dad's a bit of a cock. But I digress. Alan Moore.... He also gave the world some great works of art including:
Saga of the Swamp Thing (the comic, not the shitty movie)
V for Vendetta (the comic, not the shitty movie)
From Hell (the comic, not the shitty movie)
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (the comic, not the REALLY shitty movie)
The Ballad of Halo Jones (I'll kill myself if this ever gets made into a shitty movie)
Watchmen (which is being made into a sure-to-be-shitty movie as I type this) less Added: Aug 13, 08 Views: 117 Category: Entertainment |
| | | Scientologist security goons vs. Scottish teenagers! 08:18 Last month I was witness to the peculiar and disturbing sight of a Scientologist bullying and intimidating a six-year-old girl. Today, just around the more...corner from the scene of that event it was some holidaymakers who were victimised by crazies from the UFO cult/moneymaking scam. The location was the L Ron Hubbard Life Exhibition (oh dear!) where the cult sent out their security goons to harass some Scottish tourists for the crime of erm....chatting with members of Anonymous! The guards began taking pics of a father and his two sons at close range in order to, one presumes, intimidate them. When the tourists decided they were having none of it (bad call on the cultmembers part, Scots don't intimidate easily...haven't these fuckers seen Braveheart?) the security guards switched to 'bullbaiting' - the ploy of attempting to piss off their critics to the point that they'll resort to screaming and/or physical violence thus enabling the Scientologists to claim they are being victimised. They even went as far as claiming the father had his penis out and that he was a pedophile. I'm not making this shit up! Happily, our Scottish friends stayed calm and pointed out the guard making the accusations was a disgrace to his country, which he most certainly was. I'd have added he was a total douchebag and a complete motherfucking cunt too, but hey, that's just me and my 'Oxbridge' education! Here's the video, taken outside the L Ron Hubbard Life Exhibition on Hollywood Blvd..... less Added: Aug 13, 08 Views: 192 Category: News |
| | Anonymous - Here's to the crazy ones. 01:00 Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're more...not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or villify them but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. It is the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do. less Added: Aug 12, 08 Views: 174 Category: People |
