I'm with DayLilly, I can't wait to go inside. Castles are always a favorite. However, I wouldn't want to pay their heating bills.

Yes, that will also come the inside. Tip, chambord is the nicest
The heating was done with wood those days free from the forests and cheap labour, not to be compared with today, in some it must have been very cool in winter. Not as cosy as we have it

Langeais will be an example, a medevial forteress, draughty and cool.
Thats why the king charles VIII will built amboise for his wife.
See those episodes about Anne the Breatgne, i am sure you will like that.

Btratgane has now wine as far as i know, they drink cider.
The Loire has plenty of wine, to me the lighter type. Later in the trip i move through the most famous wine area the bourgogne, thats my wine
I like the heavy type reds.
