This is truly a sad story. The US has "wars" on crime, drugs, and terrorism & the only thing they've accomplished is to strip us of our freedoms & rights.
Drugs and poverty, IMO, are the major culprits driving crime. A good moral upbringing would help more...

I totally agree with your comment, Steve. Especially the part about a moral upbringing. Although I don't think religion should be taught in public schools, I think morals should, and by that I mean the ones nearly everyone agrees on, such as it's wrong more...

You are exactly right. It didn't work in the U.S. It just leads to an escalation. If the police are armed, then the criminals have to arm themselves...

the police get guns the criminals get better guns its how it is

personnaly i think corporal punishment should be reintroduced and fear be put in the minds of criminals atleast it will make them think before acting like fools

Sometimes i think I should carry a taser, but I dislike things like that. However, since it seem sthe police are mainly good at putting tickets on cars, maybe we need to protect ourselves more. Tragic story you tell here. ;(

When I have a girlfriend, I usually will buy them some pepper spray to protect them selves. Some girls I know carry a tazer, or a gun. The police in America carry all three, and more. Violent crime in America is still high. I don't have an answer. more...
