I'm glad that I am at least amusing. If I just achieve THAT much, my time and effort have not been wasted here. LOL

I was going to ask what's that black on your face when I saw it on TYRANNOVISION Production Vlog: Greenscreens & Glue Guns
But now I know not to bother as you just told us all in this video.
I like how you go back and forth between cameras in the video,
more...
Man you can really see the difference in the quality of colour and sound cant you.

The lesson here is don't expect to make high-quality video from any camcorder that comes in a BLISTER CARD. What I do like about the little camera is that the frame rate looks a lot like film, and so when I want to do something that looks like really

cheesy 16mm film, I'll use the Aiptek camera.
Otherwise my three sony cams have been good servants to me.

I have only one digital camera right now and it is a real pill to try and shoot different angles, but maybe I will go buy one of those 100 dollar toys to play with. :)
After you showed us your self-made green screen in an earlier video, I got this big
more...
idea to go get these huge room-size pieces of thick cardboard and paint them for my backdrop. I have the cardboard already...it was hard getting them into the front door...LOL

I TOTALLY know what you mean by shooting from different angles with one camera, but that's exactly how I work in Tyrannovision. Now...take that little pain in the ass, and multiply it by FOUR characters in the same video, and you'll have the answer
more...
as to why this current episode is taking me so long (As well as "building" the new sets that are the locations for the action).

At the craft store Michaels, I have found some fluorescent green duct tapr that is perfesct for joining the seams together. It will key out beautifully!

The sony is a far better camera...more costly as well.
I saw that shiner in the last video.I thought you might have been woopin up on somebody during your tyrant duties. You mean to tell me that was just paint that rubbed off....dang ;-)
I have a JVC GR

DV3This camera is pretty good.Unfortunately the tape transport capstan is broken off inside.I can still use it with the mac but, it's not portable any more.I am told It will cost more to fix than it is currently worth.Having a broken capstan won't stop me from using it in a studio setting.
Installing software is my biggest problem.

Well, I know that I, myself, enjoy all that behind the scenes stuff about movies, and I drink in all the useful information I can get from them. I figured if y'all saw the techniques used, not by a Hollywood studio, but by a dumb ol' fellow end-user,

that y'all would find greater inspiration for your own videos.

The nice thing about the large stretched canvas is that it is lightweight, and can be easily hung on a wall for storage when not in use! As a puppeteer that would be a perfect set-up for you. I'm gonna do a puppet show one of these days and show y'all
more...
what I mean. The main trick is getting enough light on the green backdrop. Cameras love light.

I just read elsewhere...If you have manual Focus it and you are having problems getting an even colour on the greenscreen focus in on teh subject and have the greenscreen slightly out of focus, this helps to get a more even colour...
I like that small

camera, easy to carry in your pocket.

Yeah the li'l digital camcorder is fun that way, as long as you're not expecting high quality video from it. I figure I'll make a silent film with it sometimes because it does look like ratty old film, and it does produce a nice "filmy" motion-blur

with anything that moves really fast.

I was wondering how your 'shiner" fit into the costume!
Ok I still haven't a clue on greenscreens or keying in a non-vandalism sort of way or any of that, so will keep watching!

"Keying" is my shorthand term for "CHROMA-keying" or "LUMA-Keying". If yo uhave a YouTube account, you can find a zillion turotials for this stuff--some even by KIDS who've managed to pull it off with VERY primitive setups!
To "KEY" something is to fill

a solid area of color(Chroma), brightness, or darkness(Luminance, or "Luma"), with imagery from another video source.

Wax Tutorial
This is how I learned about doing this stuff on PC's--and believe me...it's MUCH easier than doing it in an analog television studio, which is where I first learned how to do it!

Actually, I think the combination of sweat and my own body heat caused some of the black flexible tubing to melt onto my cheek. I had been wearing that helmet for a good deal longer than I had before, because I was filming action and dialog for TWO
