So for example.. if I add "teki" to the end of "ai" it would be "aiteki" and mean.. loving? Or am I off track here.

Unfortunately it isn't quite that easy :) teki doesn't work with ai. One trick would be to type a noun teki into Google to see if it is in actual use.There may be some rule for which words work with teki, but I really don't know.
