Description:
When I was born up in Wakefield, the train still ran on a regular basis. Now, it just carries tourists up to the village. As you can tell, some people

simply don't understand that the train is a powerful machine. I think they ought to call it an "idiot catcher" rather than a cow catcher.

I have always loved steam trains. When I was a ild, we took the train many times from Ottawa to Kemptville where we lived. We also took the Wakefield train which was, in those days, a regular service not just for tourists.

train in England when we vidited when I was 5. I love the smell of diesel and creosote. One of my favorite jobs when I worked at the Museum of Science and technology was dusting the trains (Yes... dusting them!). The huge room they were in smelled just like a train station and I loved climbing up into the cabs and imagining being the engineer.

up north after Wakefield but the days of train service up there ended many years ago.
If you have ever seen the Buster Keaton film "The Railrodder" (1965) (If you haven't, shame on you! Buster's last film!), you would have seen this stretch of rail. They filmed a section of it as he pulled by what is now The Black Sheep Inn and into the station.
