I actuallly have a spare webcam, I bought a new one yesterday, you have just given me the idea of giving it to my mother, she loves getting in touch with family who are scattered across the country.
Thank you for this.

I'm experimenting to see if LV will allow hyperlinks in comments, like

Yes, but unless you revisit this video, you will never know I responded to you. I am finding that to be a big drawback.

in those times. I thought I had plenty of time to capture my father's thoughts and memories, until he died at 60. He did buy a PC in 1991 to draw me closer, and it worked.

Yes, as technology changes and the family dynamic changes, we both are farther apart and have the possibility of being closer all at the same time.

1st, very good points about Martin and Teressa. Now, great question, and it didn't take me long to figure out who I'd give one to: my friend JD in Portland who I've known for over 30 years. He's a writer, blogger, and film buff and would be a natural

at this if I could convince him to come on. Now, that's not to diss my father, but I'm not sure that he'd use it. I'll have to take my camera down on a visit to my folks to make their videos. JD, however, could use the kick-start of a web cam for motivation.

Thanks for the reply. I love Portland. If all goes well with my dad I am going to give one to one of my sisters too. - ops, plane is boarding, got to go.
