It is the tenth death anniversary of Princess Diana, who died in a 1997 Paris car crash, but her legacy is still the subject of bitter controversy, both in the media and the courts.
Even a decade on, the conspiracy theories still abound, in fact an inquest is now being reopened to examine the exact circumstances of Princess Di's death.
The Ritz, Paris was where Dodi and Diana spent the last few hours of there life. They are said to have taken the back exit often, in order to avoid the photographers.
Unanswered questions
So what was Diana doing at Dodi's hotel? Why was there no security and why were plans changed at the last moment?
As their Mercedes slammed into pillar 13 at the Alma tunnel in Paris, many blamed the paparazzi. None of the photographers were charged though.
''I can confirm that from the moment I was inside the Alma tunnel and I had a wider picture of the scene, I can affirm that the paparazzi did not act inappropriately. I did my job. I helped the victims.
''I never asked the paparazzi to help me, but they never prevented me from having access to the victims. They never prevented me from doing my job.
''They never asked me to turn her head to have a better angle. So they did their job, by taking a lot of pictures. I did my job but they did not bother me. I have nothing to reproach them about,'' said Dr Frederic Mailliez, the medic who attended Diana.
Alternative theories
Francis Gillery an investigative journalist, who spent 7 years on this case, has a book and 2 films on Diana and Dodi's death.
His theory is that too much credence was given to the driver Henri Paul's drunken state.
Medical reports were switched to exaggerate the claim as Dodi and not Diana was the target of an assassination plot.
Gilllery claims, that Dodi's uncle, the arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi had fallen out with other big players. These were the people who then targeted Dodi.
As per Gillery's theory, the Mercedes they were in, was previously stolen and its central computer frequency compromised. And that's how someone triggered it to spin out of control.
''There was Dodi in the car. We hardly ever spoke of him. Even though he and his father had received serious threats of assassination,'' said Francis Gillery, Director, Requiem for a Princess.
An inquest re-opens in October; it is expected to conclude that it was an accident.
As much as Diana remains legendary, so will the conspiracy theories surrounding her sudden and violent death.
Too many conspiracy theories mean that attempts at questioning the official version will be immediately discredited. Official version will always be considered ''real'' and most feel its not going to change much. less
