You know we have to reset our modem like that every once in a while when it starts running slow. Loved the mushroom vids..so fascinating.

experinced the outing here. Windows warned me and I took similar steps as you did. shutting everything down and starting over. Like the T 8-)

I have had to deal with temporary"modem/router dementia" a few times.Most of the time pulling the power and causing a reset usually works.

I had tried that, but apparently the cable from the ISP & the router needs to be unplugged from it, and I wasn't aware of that.

A similar thing happened to my connection right around the time I joined this site. Turned out the modem was fried. :(

Funny thing was, we bypassed the router before I called, so it must have something on their end that caused it. She checked if the modem was online first, and said everything looked OK from her their end, them taught me the reset.

I have learned those headphones can be repaired you have to pry the earpieces apart and replace with better wire. I have had to learn to do this with teenagers and mp3 players around. I would go broke buying new headphones.

I'll have to see what I can come up with at Radio Shack, I tried to pry them apart, but I guess I need a bigger hammer ;-)

Glad you got it all figured out..what a coincidence that their message would have you believe it was on their side.
This happens to me all the time with my satellite connection. sometimes have to reset it a couple of times a day!

Actually, it's not a difficult procedure, once you know it. I'm just glad it can be done without calling them up if it happens again.
