Thank you all for your kind words and for your sympathies during this difficult time. I know that Mama is in Heaven now and with my father again (he passed away March 17th) and that she is no longer suffering - no more pain - and that does help, but of course at same time I still miss her so much and am sad at such a great precious loss in my life.

This year has been the most challenging I have ever endured as I have lost so many family members in short time; however others such as you all give   more...me such amazing love and support and help me get thru each day and continue to be "Singing in the Rain" and I want to thank you all for that.

Mama went up to Heaven today, Tues, Sept 23rd around 12:40pm - I had spent the night with her in her hospital room and I had stepped out as requested by nurses while they bathed her and when I returned she took her few last breaths. I am very sad at this time but do still look forward to being a 2nd assistant to the November grieving support class at my church as I really want to help others know that it will somehow, someway be okay even though it does not feel like it. As the hospital chaplain   more...told me today as we prayed over this matter, that even just presence itself can help sometimes - that when the students in the class hear my story of losing many relatives this year and see that I'm there for them, that itself could help them, he said and that alone made me to continue on with the class.

Interesting story I wanted to share with all of you:
On Monday, while visiting Mama in her ICU room, the phone rang and I picked up thinking it would be my sister on the other line and it turns out I made a new friend from the "wrong number" being called - this young lady and I began talking and she explained to me that her mom was also in ICU and that she herself was in the hospital along with her mom and that they both had come from Galveston and Hurricane Ike. As she informed me that she and her mom had no family nor friends closeby, I asked if she'd like me to stop by for a visit and she agreed and we had a nice conversation and I also visited her mom in ICU later that day. We exchanged phone numbers and I hope that we continue to stay in contact. It's strange how all of this happened, yet thought it was really neat, too - she appreciated my company, but the funny thing is she helped me more than she knows, too. Thru the midst of Mama being ill, I was glad to still be able to lift someone else's spirits at same time, even if for a few minutes and she allowed me someone outside of the circle of people I know to talk to about things. Pretty cool how my new friend and I both helped each other.

I'm leaving LV .... maybe for a few days or maybe longer - just know I need some time to sort things out in my life right now...

Something really bad happened in my neighborhood this weekend....

My husband and I returned home yesterday from being at the lake lot and today we drove by one of our neighbor's houses and saw police cars and people all around.

I went to the house tonight and delivered food and gave them my phone # and told the family to let me know if they need anything and that I was their neighbor. They were extremely nice and even asked if I could stay longer.

Here is the update from our local   more...news station that I got earlier about it:

Right now we know police are investigation a murder. It happened overnight. The victim is identified 26 year old, who was murdered in his home.
No suspects, no witnesses at this point.I am sorry, that is all of the information at this point.
