Most of my "stuff" problem comes from packrats that I live with. I have no problem with it myself, but I'm glad to see that you are out to teach about the encumbrances of stuff.

morning Bunny.. its so hard to shed things. A short few years back my Mom past,, before her time as far as I was concerned. I ended up with the joyus task of sorting. (shock to my siblings and me)

It is so difficult, I just think why should my kids have to sort through stuff which would be meaningless to them.

I agree completely with what you did! I can not stand clutter (no matter what type) and have slowly been purging stuff that is just sitting in a box or a storage room. I'm sure your daughters are glad you gave them the chance to choose or not... more...
