We finally seen it. You are right I thought they did it justice. One of the things that stick out in my mind from the old ones was that Kirk was always pulling down his shirt lol. Uniforms changed but still looked awesome. Luv the new Spock. He has always

been my favorite.

Did you notice Spock does a shirt tug when he gets up to testify against Kirk in the movie? The "tunic tug" came as a result of the red uniforms from the movies. They would ride up whenever the actors would sit down, so it became an unconscious habit

to tug the tunics back down. Even leonard Nimoy unconsciously did it in his death scene in "Wrath of Khan", and it gets an unintended laugh from the audience.

Me and Dork went to see it on opening weekend, and we both really liked it. I thought Zachary Quinto did a magnificent Spock, and even the old Spock was nostalgic. I too hope they get the next one out soon, because it looks like a promising series.
I

noticed when you spoke it reminded me of the old Star Wars fanboys. The ones who loved the series and all that, but then when Phantom Menace came out, they pretty much started hatin on it like the movie raped their mom or whatever. They don't like prequels, I suppose.

Well, ideally the "Star Wars" Sextilogy is meant to be viewed as one movie. "Phantom Menace" was the set-up episode. I think what pisses a "Wars" fan off more than anything is having to wait another two to three years for the next movie.
Right now, as

far as "Trek" goes, I'm waiting impatiently fpr "Star Trek: Phase II" to upload part two of "Blood And Fire".

Yep, there's a whole lotta movie up there! And you want that big booming sound, too! Normally I go to a movie once, and if I like it I'll get the DVD, but THIS one takes me back to the days of my youth when there was NO home video and I went to see

Excellent review!
Everyone I know who saw it, agrees with you!
They won't let me see it however, because dogs aren't allowed into the movie theater..:)

That's too bad, because dogs are less likely to cry like babies, less likely to talk like small children, and don't usually have cell phones on 'em. I think there should be special all-dog screenings.

I have to see it soon. One of my friends told me that he really enjoyed it for the same reasons you mentioned. Good review.

I second that! Was a little surprised by some of the cameos as well. Think it made a fine introduction to a new series of movies.

And a whole new generation of fans as well! The guy who works at my local Safeway Deli is 22 yrs old and could never get into the Original Series of Star Trek, but he LOVED this new movie. That this new movie can touch a new generation, and the old

generation of die-hard fans makes this film a towering achievement. ....And we went and saw it again today!

Here's a blast from the past when I got into the middle of a debate about the Trek relaunch between William Walkie Walker and Victor "1st" Mullins. I think it's pertinent to this review and kinda fun in retrospect. Enjoy
