reason do we adjust our response? I understand we are not talking about the line between verbal and physical responses, as physical anger is never called for, unless in defense. However in the case of your son throwing the ball inside, how would you handle this differently from the way in which you first examined? Interesting subject.......

Vegas 7. In this case the expression of misdirected anger was an expression of frustration regarding the job rather then any true anger directed at the child. There would be many more appropriate ways to respond to the situation. But lashing out with
more...
language like "you never" as in "you never listen" is not appropriate or accurate. Being confronted with anger or hostility tends to cause us to respond that way -- the point is we can choose to respond differently.
