Found this on the web today about the fire...
Boyds brush fire disrupts train service
A 4-acre brush fire spilled over railroad tracks in the 14500 block of Clopper Road in Boyds on Tuesday evening, halting MARC trains in both directions and disrupting

train service Wednesday, as fire crews fought the blaze, officials said.
The cause of the blaze — which was still being controlled Wednesday — is under investigation, said Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokeswoman Dee Howard Richards.
‘‘I don’t think we’ll ever determine the cause,” fire and rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said Wednesday. ‘‘No reason to believe it’s arson, but nothing has been ruled out at this time.”
Fire crews received word of the fire, near Black Hill Regional Park and Little Seneca Stream Valley Park, shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday, Piringer said.
‘‘It was an area where there was some debris and a number of old railroad ties stocked up,” he said. ‘‘The fire spread pretty quickly while we were there.”
About 60 firefighters contained and controlled the fast-spreading blaze by 10 p.m., after bringing in water tankers, foam and other fire fighting materials, Piringer said. Firefighters maintained a ‘‘fire watch” throughout the night Tuesday and most of Wednesday, he said.
The blaze, which had begun to consume railroad ties was close to the Hungerford Bothers Excavating, Piringer said.
‘‘We are thankful that the rain has come and that will aid in the process,” Piringer said.
Though the tracks were not damaged, the fire disrupted Wednesday morning MARC service on the Brunswick Line, said Holly Henderson, spokeswoman for the Maryland Transit Administration.
MARC service was disrupted Wednesday because new railroad crews could not be located to staff the morning trains, she said.
‘‘Railroad workers — as well as trucking and airline employees — are subject to hours of service laws set by the federal government,” according to an MTA statement released Wednesday. These employees have mandatory rest times between trips after they have worked a certain number of hours, according to the statement.
MTA contracts with CSX and Amtrak, who hire employees.
‘‘Due to last nights delays due to the brush fires, many employees could not work this morning,” Henderson said. ‘‘CSX management spent all night finding employees who were qualified for passenger service and were not already working in freight service.”
