to go by your past history and what you tell him or her. There is no way biologically to prove you have schizophrenia. Often the very symptoms that show up later in a persons life are actually side effects and damage caused by the anti psychotic medications. Then are called symptoms of schizophrenia.

Now that you know that you are schizophrenic and you are obviously aware of the symptoms of psychosis, does this help you realize that your psychotic symptoms are not real? In other words, does being more knowledgeable about your condition help you to

Yeah, I think realizing I have a disease does help somewhat, however, there were times when I was really psychotic and I couldn't control my thoughts, because they were coming too fast. The medication in that case is a life-saver.

I just wanted to thank you for discussing your schizophrenia. I have never heard anyone with the disorder actually discuss it, but I do think that it is important because it illustrates that schizophrenia is not what hollywood has made it out to be.
