Fear 101: "The Three Levels of Fear" An encapsulation of "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway" by Susan Jeffers, the first of many books I'm reading on the more...nature of fear. Self-help stuff is not my cup of tea- I tend to get what I need from the first two chapters and the rest is all fluff. I found the levels of fears to be comforting for some reason- perhaps at the thought of being able to categorize them, implying we had the upper hand and could shuffle them like a freakin' deck of cards. I like the idea that if I could just believe that I can handle ANYthing that comes my way, then all other fears could be proven baseless. If I look at my life, I could see that and know it, yet those stubborn fears remain. Curiosities now, as a result of seeing many of my fears crowded into "level 2"- the nature of ego. I need to list my fears- the ones I'm aware of, anyway. less
