.A guy named RyanMckinney24 left this comment on my YouTube video of the same name- "Aggressive dog packs form around the bases due to higher amounts of food. This is dangerous not only to us, but to the locals. Rabies is rampant, so to control this, more...while on patrol, we take out the parent dogs with 9 mm. and then we take out the puppies with large rocks. If we didn't do this, the dog problem would be out of control and packs of dogs would be roaming around attacking people.

I watch the news, I listen to internet radio, I read newspapers and blogs, I like to think that I'm a pretty well informed guy. But I've never heard about the rabies problem with the wild dogs in Iraq, but that does make a lot of sense. It just goes to show that there are multiple factors that led to this incident. If killing wild dogs is a routine thing in Iraq because of the rabies problem, well that goes a long way towards my understanding of how this sort of thing could occur.

I am really concerned for the physical and mental well being of our troops. When you figure in the stop-loss program and the lack of rotation, the lack of family leave and these extended, never ending, tours of duty; I think that we might be seeing the start of a breakdown in discipline and moral on the order of what we also saw as things deteriorated is Vietnam. I support the Troops, not the Army or President Bush or the Pentagon brass. Our Troops are being misused and abused.

This could just be just "one bad apple". This Marine might have a long history of cruelty to animals, but I don't know that for a fact. I think we need to take a hard look at who we are letting into our military, I've heard that standards for enlistment have been lowered and that certain criminals are getting waivers in order to serve because the need for warm bodies to serve in Iraq is so high.

When I joined the Navy, you couldn't have a criminal record at all.

I think that these Marines should be punished for animal cruelty, no question about it! But I also want them to get some mental health counseling, after all, they have been through hell over there. In addition to that, they brought shame and dishonor on the Marine Corps and the United States, it is disgraceful behavior that should not be tolerated.

These people are going to be reintegrated back into our society eventually and we're going to pay a steep price if we don't help them get their heads around the trauma that they've experienced. less

I am of the mind of Baileykix. This Individuals action is a court martial offense and if found guilty he will probably loose all benefits due to him.
