it's probably blocky or pixilated because your brother is watching an SD channel on an HD TV. It's stretching the image to fit the screen.

That looks like a good IPA.

Most of what you watch is digital anyway. It will have been converted back to analog for broadcast. The blocks are due to compression. You can put six SD channels on or a single HD channel. Which gets more commercial revenue?

They never intended for it to look better. Especially your local stations. Most of that is simply an analog signal pushed through a digital converter anyway because the stations don't want to spend millions on more...
