interesting, how in both pieces- the one you just did and #21, there was a visual anchor that set the tone. When I think of how you set it up on the wall first, placing Superman in the middle and then working your way outward, that makes sense.
What
more...
would happen if you placed an anchor in the corner and started from there? Or deliberately resisted the presence of a motif? Or is that antithetical to the art of quilt-making?

I don't usually have a motif.
The bizarre aspect of the boxer short images made me feel that I could finally use that superman fabric I had held on to for so many years.

Thanks for sharing this perspective, and showing us that quilting truly is a creative art form.

This series of videos has been just outstanding to watch. I have learned so much from you. I thank you so much for the time you put into making the videos so that others may get as much joy out of it as you have. Can't wait to see what we shall be doing

next on a new project.
Blessing,
Robin

I really liked that quilt too!
Would love to see a video with each one of your quilts in it. (if you have them all)
Do you daughters have some of them? Do they ever ask you for one? Do they ever fight over them? LOL

Regarding the commentary below, I was just thinking as I watched the #24 video what a stark contrast the back was from the front. Kind of like a different quilt for a different mood.
I don't think we have ever had a quilt on our bed that we didn't alternate

front and back.

I understand what he was saying about the quilting having a motif yet being free-form at the same time. It stands apart as an individual element while reflecting the Japanese theme of the material. The back of the quilt offers a totally different perspective,

with the quilting being the dominant element. It can be appreciated in its own right.

I have enjoyed this series of videos so much. I didn't realize how little I knew about quilting until you began to teach us about the process. I look forward to the unveiling, but will be a bit sad when it is over. I wonder what your next creative project
more...
will be?
