Description:
Please help me send a message to Congress and the President. We need to put a lot more focus on supporting the injured troops that return from Iraq.

Watch the Hardball show this responds to and read the Washington Post article below, that shows the conditions at Walter Reed hospital and the treatment these heros are receiving. Please respond to this to show your support and send it to your friends. When it's ready, I'm going to send it to Nancy Pelosi and the News Media to try to get the message out. Let's make a difference! Thanks, Tony.

I read today that finally since the press has shamed the govt they are "looking into" things. One article said a repair crew was sent to paint and fix up that hell hole guys lived in with the rats and roaches. But it doesn't help the ones who commited

suicide on and off the base waiting for care, the ones homeless on the street or the one just plain lost because of the incomprehensible stone age record system to track medical & service records (according to the articles). Sadly the aftercare needs to be addressed in the news, in my opinion, to be corrected. Today on MSN it was said currently the injured to dead ratio is 16 to 1. That is a huge amount of people who are going to need our help for a long time. If the govt is failing them now, what is going to happen later?

I couldn't agree with you more.I'm an old "bleeding heart" that is opposed to war,but in spite of what some "right wingers" say I do support the troops. They are our brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, fathers, mothers ,and friends of all of us.
The cash

that was "spent " with no accounting in Iraq is actually more that 9 billion dollars. The criminal overcharges by the contractors is in,at least the hundreds of millions of dollars, and the tax cuts for the top one and a half percent of money makers is in the billions of dollars, but the budget for supporting our wounded veterans is being REDUCED.This is crazy and immoral.
The good news is, that because of advanced medical care on the battlefield, that more lives are being saved. The bad news is that this means more veterans in need of special help. The nature of the Iraq "war" has brought about a tremendous number of ,hear to for ,unusual injuries.Soldiers with serious brain injuries are very common. They will need help and support for the rest of their lives. The number of survivors that require amputations is also higher.Their lives will never be the same.
These veterans need and deserve whatever help is available to make the quality of their lives "all that it can be".It doesn't matter,at all, what your views on the war are. It is the decent, moral, compassionate, human, and American thing to do.
I would, also, urge everyone to contact their representatives in Congress and forcefully lobby to take care of our veterans.
Thank you for this post.It is very important.Every American needs to search their soul and take some action. Our reaction to this situation defines our humanity as a nation.
Peace,G

Nice ending. I agree with you. I have been opposed to this 'war' since before it began. An added tragedy is the way we (as in we the people) allow our appointed (I almost said elected) to neglect and mistreat it's victims.

The USA should be spending money wisely and instead throws away some of it to Iraq. Now the bush thing of adding troops might mean going into Iran and making things worse in Iraq and loosing thousands more troops.

I always thought it would be better to have the leaders duke it out... lol If that was the case, we'd have to change the election laws to elect Arnold... lol
