i am a little late but happy new year!
great video, but i disagree with it

well, i disagree about that you are a jerk to, but its better for the tranny when you use the clutch unless you can get it in gear absolutely perfectly

a couple of bumps on the dog teeth and you can get a trans that wants to kick out of gear

Better late than never. Happy New Year.

What do you disagree with, the fact that I'm a jerk?? :-)

"i hope all dreams, aspirations, hopes come true... provided they're good." ... crap, so much for world subjugation :P

pretty good vid. it would be neat to see pip with throttle hand as well as your left foot.

some people argue that when you're in traffic   more...

Yes.... I think. :-)

I hadn't thought of that. I can hold the camera in my left hand since it's not being used for any thing else. LOL

If people don't have that much clutch control, maybe they shouldn't be in traffic just yet. I agree with you, but I use   more...

I think it is important for riders to know that they can shift up or down without the clutch. It is a skill that can come in handy and possibly save your butt if the clutch cable decides to break on you while your out and about. Rev matching is key.

Very nice. Much better than my demonstration.

Are the people who call you a jerk in the airline industry? ;-p

I generally at least get the clutch into the friction zone. But I do find that you get smoother shifting if you don't completely disengage the   more...

Thanks Fud, I forgot you did that vid.

No......everyone. :-)

Sometimes I can get shifts smooth enough clutchlessly that there is no telling that a gear change took place........very seldom though.(Pillion passengers have told me)

While I understand the dynamics of rev matching and no clutch shifting, and it does work just fine when properly done (even in cars), I've always preferred to use the clutch. It doesn't take much effort, and my left hand likes to be included in the   more...

That's fair enough. I'm just lazy. It also stems from trail bike riding where I never use it to change up. But my mirrors are still intact. :-) :-)
