We've done many features over the years on domestic abuse. It crosses every socio-economic, racial and religious line. No matter if you're rich or poor, the cycle of violence continues unless one has the courage to make a change. Although October is

Domestic Abuse Awareness month, obviously the problem continues not only all year, but from generation to generation. This pattern of behaviour gets passed on from parent to child and so on, and so forth. Domestic abuse continues against women, men, children and the elderly. In fact, elderly abuse is increasing. Educate yourself on the signs of abuse, and hopefully, someday, you'll have a chance to help a friend make a life-saving decision.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is the continuing crime and problem of the physical beating of a wife, girlfriend or children, usually by the woman's male partner (although it can also be female violence against a male). It is now recognized as an antisocial mental

illness. Sometimes a woman's dependence, low self-esteem and fear of leaving cause her to endure this conduct or fail to protect a child. Prosecutors and police often face the problem that a battered woman will not press charges or testify due to fear, intimidation and misplaced "love." Increasingly domestic violence is attracting the sympathetic attention of law enforcement, the courts and community services, including shelters and protection for those in danger.

This is a very important issue to men, too. Like discoman.co.uk, I was also a victim. We all need to band together to end the abuse. Thank you for the good work!

Thank you for a great video. Anyone who is in a violent relationship needs to get out of it as soon as they can! I spent 2 years with a crazy women who used to hit me and smash up my home all the time. After I left her (and my home!) she went on to do
