I have done some electro copper plating. One thing is not to have it so the bubbles collect or trapped on the surface of the object that is being electroplated. So one thing is to have a submersible fish tank filter which cleans and agitates the water

Just one problem here. It is not
gas
which moves through the solution, only
ions
. Gas is only
formed at the electrodes
, appearing as bubbles. You can check this for yourself using the standard Hoffman apparatus:
If gas were moving through the solution

then it would be seen to bubble out into the central reservoir.
