Sometimes treading water is all we can do at the time and just be glad we had the strength to keep our head up, then along comes a wave that helps carry us in the right direction. Don't change because you have to, change because you want to.

What a fantastic video!
I too have thought about all that you just said.
How mundane my life would have been had I just floated downstream and did my best to avoid the rocks and rapids.
There are times I chose to ride the rapids, to stand on the rocks,
more...
and a few times to paddle back up river.......... as a result a few times I almost drowned. But I never wanted to leave the river

Know that I am right there with you - my own impediments, my arguments with even myself, holding back when I should charge forward, and rushing forward when holding back would be better.
It took so long for me to develop a spine, and as soon as I did,

it started hurting!
Water is healing - the sound of it behind you was great and warming....
Thank you...

Thanks for watching. Change is something we all think about at some point. Some just don't give it a second thought.

"The sea refuses no river" as they say.
It's hard when you think about other choices you could have made, and how they may have made some things better, but you would have missed out on so much more.

Can't seem to put this subject down. I love Gus McCrae's attitude in Lonesome Dove. He said he was different than Woodrow Call because he (Gus) was faced with own his failures and flaws on a daily basis. Whereas, Call, never could accept that he might

have been even for a moment "human". And that left Gus open to life and other people. Call's approach left him cut off from himself and the rest of humanity. Gus knew a timeless truth, We are all flawed. Thank goodness for Grace.

Your choice of the river for a metaphor for life is a good one. Particfularly as your river is a constantly changing one!
Change happens whether we realise it or not - I've found the 50's part of my life to be avery interesting one. You do reflect back

but, for me, it's been an impetus to go forward and find a new direction to travel in.
Hope your journey is always an interesting one.

Always interesting! Reflection is better than regret. We can always learn from the past, but we can't ignore the present - with all of its changes. Thanks for the comment.

True, but it's funny how an accidental metaphor like that, gives us a lesson to learn about married life....it works so much better when you work together, as a team, to move along down life's waterways ;-)

My wife and I like the two seater models, if she gets into a solo one, she hangs up on the banks every turn ;-)

Gives you a chance to look around. Sort of like stopping to smell the roses.
