Our Saturday night out was to listen to the Surrey based "Vivace Chorus" choir singing Verdi's Requiem, at Guildford Cathedral, Surrey.
The performance more...was dedicated to the memory of the soldiers who died in the wars ... Verdi's Requiem says:
"grant them eternal rest, Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon them"
(well, it was sung in operatic in Latin - and I couldn't understand it, so the programme came in mighty handy!)
As you watch, I ask two things of you:
Please spare a thought for those who gave up their lives for the blessings you now enjoy.
And, on 11th November at 11am, whatever you happen to be doing at the time, please pause for 2 minutes silence in remembrance of those brave men who suffered (and continue to do so even to this day) on your behalf.
