The Victorians were into celebrating death in a big way! Probably because it was a much more common occurance in the home than for us nowadays. Always sad to see so many of the wee ones and unusual to see a sibling photographed with them post mortem!

I didn't know about this genre of photography (it is still in practice today) until researching images for a halloween video. I did use a couple images, but not as "nice" as these....!
The living deal with dying and death in many ways! Fascinating video!
