Robkes Country Inn, located at 427 Fort Salonga Road in Northport, has been a neighborhood mainstay since opening its doors in 1961. Originally owned more...by Ernest and Mary Lou Robke, this very successful German bar and grill was famous for its burgers and fingertip steaks. In 1978, Louis Selvaggio from the Bronx took over as owner and head chef. He kept the old name, but also added a taste of Italy to the menu as Robke's evolved into a local trattoria. With frequent trips to Arthur Avenue, Lou makes sure his customers are served only the freshest fish, best quality meats, brick oven breads and, of course, the finest pasta.
