how hard and fast I'm willing to push the bike on a road I just don't know that well. Save the 'I could have gone faster' comments. If you don't like the music in this series, you must be dead, or crazy....

Very interesting camara position. I can now see rpms on the VFR, which is pretty cool. And it is quite different from your cruiser. And you may still be using your previous rpm range -- this is not a criticism but an observation. It sounds like the bike

wants to be higher, say 8.000-10.000, coming into the turns to hold you in there tighter. (You are a much better rider than I am, seriously, so I'm just speculating.) But, yeah, it sounds to me like she wants to come in higher. I don't know. You get a lot of compression from the engine when cutting the throttle as compared to before or do you feel you need to downshift more? Nice vid.

The compression braking of the V4 is a lot smoother than the Vtwin on the M50. It also gets worse as the rpm climb. I kept it in the lower ranges because it's easier to ride predictably down there. It gets a bit twitchy at 11k rpm, especially in 1st

and 2nd gear. Hell, at 10,000rpm in 1st you give the throttle a whack and the bike will stand up on one wheel for ya. I was keeping it low to avoid any possibility of spinning the tire, or pulling a wheel out of one of the corners. Over all, you're right, she likes being ridden up that high, but I don't like doing it to her.

YeeHaa! After spending 3 weeks being excited if I ever got up to 6 knots, this ride seems a bit surreal....kissed fog lines and all....

Yea, I had a few near misses with both lines over the entire ride. Most of the ones with the white line weren't as close as they appear though. The ones with the yellow, on the other hand...

I am sure there's a lot of people who could easily outrun me, I'm not trying to deny that fact. I just don't want to hear about it from any yahoo with a bike.

I was actually shocked at how slow I was going most of the time. It's too bad the one run I managed to record was not my fastest run. I'm quite sure I wouldn't keep up with your VFR though. The M50 OTOH would have been meat.

I did the same thing. I went into 3rd on a rare occasion, and used 4th just to keep the revs down a few times. Never really used first, too much of a drop in revs, and getting from 2nd to 1st mid turn can be hairy.

Yeah, I've said in the past that TOD doesn't look like all that. My song changed real quick when I was there in person. OMG those turns are so much tighter than they look on video. I was in 2nd gear the whole time on my run that I posted. If I did

It's amazing how fast people think they can make it across that road because they saw it in a few videos, and then to see them actually ride it is comical sometimes. Atleast you weren't one of the many who makes the "Oh, I could have done it that fast"

comments. Those guys REALLY get me laughing.
