I was hoping for some of those tyres but I see they've all gone!
We had a similar Pepsodent advert, certainly the jingle was the same! Do they still put Irium in it or would that make you glow in the dark?

Not to worry... it turned out that "Irium", that special ingredient, never existed. So much for truth in advertising.

Real perked coffee was the best! I've got 65 bucks. Please order me 5 Goodyear tires at $13 (4 plus a spare). I feel like spending money today!

The good percolators had brew and warm settings. Most modern coffee makers have only one temperature and will burn coffee much more easily. And sorry, the tires are all sold out.

Being as you mentioned cars, my first (and only brand new one) was a '71 Ford Pinto. $2200 off the showroom floor. Glad it never burst into flames! (as they tended to do!) Wish I had it now. Probably be worth $2500. LOL

LOL! Yup, even our clothes were black and white. Mom wore an apron and a hat and gloves everywhere outside the house. I miss my mom:( They drank coffee and smoked cigarettes right along with Lucy Ricardo and Danny Thomas.

I smiled at these all the way through! I could NEVER get the coffee right in a perculator. Got a Corningware perc for an engagement present in 19??, and the I thought it would be better. We gave up and used it to steam asparagus instead. It made GREAT

asparagus! LOL!
Can't wait for the "intermission" commercials- like the ones from the Drive-in movie, with dancing hamburgers, singing french fries and cavorting Coke bottles... two minutes to SHOWTIME!

"Tastes as good as it smells". They don't tell you that it smells like crap, hehe.
"3700 gripping edges." Now, why did they pick 3700? Why not an even 4000? (I sound like Andy Rooney.)
Can you imagine what the world would be like if all men wore bow

A) They should have stuck with "Good to the last drop"
B) Somebody actually counted the gripping edges, huh?
C) Don't ALL bow ties spin?
