I had 12 years of experience when I got my first "powerful" bike.....the CBR600RR and I still almost crashed it the first week.....but my experience got me out of it. If I owned the CBR as a first bike.....I would've totalled it for sure.

The lack of traffic...and width of the roads....blows my mind. Litteraly......they're all over the floor right now.

I'd say most people in America would react the same about roads in Taiwan...."Is Mordeth riding on a Golf cart path??"

That was a great vid. You basically mirrored all my feelings about the bike. The advice on buying the bike from a dealer was great.
I also agree with you about the Riders Club. When I was still new I lowsided around a low speed corner on some sand.

When I posted about it on the forums, all the assholes that frequent that site came out to ridicule me. It really soured me to the whole community there.

A 250 is an excellent first bike, acceleration is more then enough! But im getting to that stage where i want a bigger bike to, however i think ill always

keep my cbr250rr, its such a nice bike to ride.
Here is Aus you MUST do a pre learners course to get your license, it has saved many lives, also, you cant get anything bigger then a 250cc (with a few exceptions, power to weight ration) here unless your over 30 (mature rider)

Good video - Some would argue that it is better to take the MSF and teach yourself rather than having friends trying to instruct you. Great literature out there too - I own twist of the wrist & proficient motorcycling as well and those went a long way

to assist me with riding properly. If you've got one locally, try to sign up for a track day and it'll absolutely blow your mind. Learned so much from riding those short track sessions.

Your not alone bud! I'm 39 and I bought a Yamaha Virago 250 2 years ago. Haven't had a bike since I was a kid and had a honda mini trail. Don't regret getting it at all and would like to move up to a bigger bike but I'm in no hurry cause I like the

Super vid! I wholeheartedly agree with the big bike versus small bike thing. I started riding over 30 years ago on a Yamaha FS1E - which was a 50cc with gears, progressed to a Honda CB125 single, nad then a Honda CB250 twin for three years (I had no

money at college) - rode them in all weathers and all conditions. Now I have a Bandit 1200, and I'e had Ducati 996, Gixxer 1000, Yamaha FZ1, etc and NO ACCIDENTS. It's all about respect for both the bike and your own abilities - I see riders every day riding WAAAAY outside of their abilities and taking chances - they are just trusting on lady luck being with them. One of these days, lady luck will not be there and there will be a stationary car around that corner they're taking at 60mph and then it's sayonara. Great vid - enjoyed it

I've been riding for 9 months now. I've put 7000 miles on my GS and 1000 miles on my friends CBR600. The thing that helped me the most was when I took the MSF course. I will praise that course till the day I die. I thought I knew how to ride proficiently

until I took that course. Before you step it up take the course. OR By the big bike, but don't get a lot miles on it until you take the course. A guy at my test day had bought an R6 and dropped it off at the course. Never rode before in his life. Took the course and rode the bike home.

MSF course is great for riders of all riding abilities. And is a great foundation for getting you license!

Great vid! In a lot of respects, I'm like you starting to ride a bike. I've had about 10 mins of learning when I was 14 and never had any friends that had bikes. When gas got so high last summer, ( as is will be this summer) the price of fuel was

eating me up in my Dodge Ram so my wife saw a article in the sunday paper about scooters and did some research, decided to try it. Took the MSF course, things fell into place here I am. Making vids and chating about riding. I got a big scooter ( 650 ) In retrospect, maybe alittle big for me but I'm a big guy and I think the size fit.. Alot of storage and you just twist and go. Put your feet extended on the footboards and cruise.
I've never looked back since.
