Stevie you probably have already taken them out but I wanted to tell you that you totally can take them out yourself. I took mine out and I had 11 in my leg. Its totally do-able. ok peace

it's not a bad idea, as long as your sure your toe is healed, i'd wait maybe a week or so.
and when i got my stiches taken out, i was allowed to pull one out myself,
it's a very...gross experience
