Agustin Barrios was in that moment, spending a few days at a hotel called ABC, located on the streets of Sarandi and Alzaibar, a short distance from said Cathedral. It was composed in the beginning with 2 movements, and has for subtitle "Distico Sacro". Afterwards in 1938 in Cuba, he composed a Prelude, that after having played it solo for a time, he decided to add it to his old work, The Catedral. Here I present the three movements.
Obra compuesta en otoño de 1921 en Montevideo - Uruguay y dedicada a la Catedral Metropolitana de Montevideo.
Agustín Barrios estaba en ese momento pasando unos dias en un hotel llamado ABC, hubicado en las calles Sarandí y Alzaibar, a pocas distancia de dicha Catedral.
Fue compuesta en un comienzo con 2 movimientos y tiene como subtitulo "Distico Sacro" luego en 1938 en Cuba compone un preludio, que despues de haberlo tocado solo durante un tiempo resuelve agregar a su antigua obra La Catedral.
