I don't know how…
Hmmm, I don't know (chuckling)…
But I was taken on a journey through years...months...weeks...even days...
In just a matter of minutes
Listening to the faint sound of a heart beating in the distance
I know you're there.

Is   more...life really what YOU make it?
Or is it simply a portrait in God's portfolio
Scattered in pieces for you to experience and arrange it
Can we REALLY change it?

And if you were told you could, would you do it?
Love and pain are still two sides of a doorway
Those who look for it are bound to go through it
Please don't confuse it…….

I speak hypothetically
Using these words interjectionally
Not to illustrate my mind's complexity
But rather to harbor it's bearing
I know you're there.

Wise men have told me that "the present" symbolizes a gift
So unless this "receiving" is dismissed as a myth
Every connecting four corners of our being are designed to fit
From the...savannahs where I go in my mind to type this
To the...feeling of being unable to make an aberration, delete, and simply rewrite this
Still taking time out to close my eyes, and cultivate Isaiah…priceless…

I smile…showing congruency
After visualizing, dissecting, and understanding its contents fluently
Caught off balance by what the truth is
Because the truth is...in most ways new to me
I know you're there.

My "gift" to you doesn't unravel like the world
Leaving you running
Feeling as if somehow happiness is unattainable
I entrust you with a friendship that's unassailable.
And don't confuse it…
